SAPS DNA DISASTER

The SAPS DNA backlog has prevented a family burying a man one year after his death. It was revealed that the SAPS had a DNA forensic backlog of 8 388 cases, most dating as far back as February last year, and that approximately 5 400 of the cases were related to sexual assault.
