A BRITISH man accused of being a part of an Islamic State (IS) kidnap-and-murder cell, has been charged with terrorism offences after returning to the UK from Turkey, police said this week.

The Metropolitan Police, which leads anti-terror investigations in the UK, officially named the man as Aine Davis, 38, and said he had been remanded in police custody. Davis has been charged for alleged terrorism offences, including that he was allegedly a member of the IS cell that held dozens of foreign hostages in Syria between 2012 and 2015, and were known to their captives as the “Beatles” because of their British accents. | AFP
