The Star E-dition

QUICK READ

DR NKOSAZANA Dlamini Zuma, the Minister of Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), has revealed that the country is grappling with six royal succession disputes.

Dlamini Zuma said the department would not be able to get involved since the cases were still before courts, thus sub judice.

The minister was responding to a written parliamentary question from EFF MP Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi, who wanted to know the number of disputes and what Cogta was doing to resolve them.

Among the disputes, Dlamini Zuma listed the one within the Zulu monarchy where Prince Simakade, the first-born son of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini, is challenging the ascension to the throne of his half-brother King Misuzulu Kazwelithini. | IOL
