I WAS pleasantly surprised by the Samsung Galaxy A32. My review item came in the Awesome Blue colour. It is also available in Awesome Black.

Samsung has truly changed the experience of “Awesome” with its midrange smartphones.

I love the fact mid-range phones come packed with all the apps you need. They are a far cry from old school phones that had the minimum.

The first thing I noticed about the A32 is the storage space. It carries 128GB, making it a great phone to take as many fun pictures as you like.

The target market for these phones is people who love to capture moments and create experiences for themselves.

These people are young and full of energy and need a phone that is the same. However, this demographic is not the only one that would be interested in this phone. My mother was attracted to the colour of the phone and loved how lightweight it was. It weighs just 184g, something I appreciated as my small hands tend to cramp easily when I hold bigger, heavier smartphones in my hand.

When it comes to the features, the 6.4 inch Infinity-U display is super crisp. It comes with a FHD+ Super AMOLED display, reaching 800 nits (the standard unit of luminance). For people who can’t stand bright lights, the Eye Comfort Shield lowers blue light making night time scrolling much easier on the eye.

Gamers can also enjoy the Real Smooth features that keeps the view smooth for their relaxation time.

The simple design adds to the classy feeling of the phone, it looks expensive but it is easy on the pocket, retailing from R5499.

Everyone loves a good camera and for this price, a four-lens camera is worth it.

The A32’s multi-lens camera system has a 64MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide camera, 5MP depth camera and a 5MP macro camera allowing you to do a variety of things with the camera including changing angles, customizing the focus to your needs and getting up close and personal.

I loved using the ultra wide and depth cameras because I love focused close ups and taking pictures where the whole family can fit in without having to cram in order to fit into the frame.

I am guilty of taking way too many. For someone like me who can take up to 300 photos a day, I always think of more storage. The A32 has an advanced Octa-core processor and up to 4GB of RAM. There is also the option of adding up to 1TB with a microSD card.

With smartphones that are jam packed with features and apps, the battery life isn’t usually great. The A32 battery life lasts quite awhile, the 5000mAh battery goes the extra mile for you. I charged the phone in the morning and didn’t have to charge again until the next day and it still wasn’t all the way empty. Adaptive fast charging is a life saver because you can put your phone on the charger, step out of the room to make some food and come back to find the phone already powered up by a good percentage.

The Samsung Knox offers multi-layered security, defending sensitive information from malware and malicious threats. Security options also include an on screen fingerprint sensor.

With all the new range phones Samsung is removing the typical earphones option so when you do buy this mid-range baby, note it only comes with a charger and cable. Galaxy Buds retail separately so put that into your budget when you are shopping for the phone.

Overall, the phone is user friendly, has some great apps you can take advantage of, and the price is sweet.
