WORLD BANK DISCONTINUES BUSINESS CLIMATE REPORT AFTER ETHICS REVIEW

THE WORLD Bank Group said yesterday that it would discontinue its Doing Business report after it discovered data irregularities in the 2018 and 2020 reports. “After data irregularities on Doing Business 2018 and 2020 were reported internally in June 2020, World Bank management paused Doing Business. It initiated the next Doing Business report and a series of reviews and audits of the report and its methodology,” the World Bank Group said. The internal reports also raised ethical concerns that were brought to the attention of the appropriate internal accountability mechanisms, including the conduct of current and former staff, the World Bank Group added. | Sputnik News
