The Star E-dition

Cycling’s a dangerous pastime, especially on SA’s roads

YET another cyclist was recently killed by a drunk taxi driver.

Blinded by the booze, the fool dragged the innocent cyclist for 500 metres, before eventually stopping.

The various taxi associations need to impose harsh rules and regulations on their drivers and should be more visible and vigilant at taxi ranks ... doing breathalyser tests continuously.

Cyclists too, need to be alert at all times, avoiding situations where they could be placing themselves in harms way.

Cycling is an awesome fitness sport, but the sceptre of dangerous drivers is a constant threat to their well being. PETER BACHTIS |
