Images of a new dream, a new society

WILL the ANC rise once more? That is a question that has been lingering in my mind recently.

What has happened that has made me think about this now?

The enthusiasm we saw in the 1994 elections is no longer evident and manifests itself in the dwindling numbers of voters.

This decline has impacted the governing party, which has failed to take control of major municipalities, especially in Gauteng and the Eastern Cape.

Since Mr Ramaphosa’s presidency, we have seen some changes that give hope as to what we can expect from our municipalities. We started seeing the step aside rule implemented at all levels by the governing party.

We need to see authentic leadership and also ensure service delivery.

These elections serve as an opportunity for the ANC to stay in contact with all communities and to ensure the delivery of services. A rising ANC will ensure the removal from positions of those who are not there for service, and the deployment of a new cadre.
