Creative mixes to try this season

THE festive season is almost here, and while some are planning to go on holiday, others want to relax at home with their loved ones.
If you plan on hosting a small party or a get-together with friends, these are some of the cocktails you can make for your guests.
VSOP Courvoisier French Twist
For Cognac lovers who prefer their drink with a twist, instead of having it on the rocks, this one is for you.
Ingredients
50ml Courvoisier VSOP
15ml Orange Curaçao or quality Triple Sec
22ml Sirop de Gomme (or honey) 15ml fresh lemon juice
89ml soda water
Method
Build all ingredients into a tin, except the soda. Add one handcracked 1x1 ice cube and shake until melted. Pour into a glass half full of crushed ice, add the soda water, then pack in extra ice and garnish with fruit.
Dead Man’s Fingers Purple Haze
If you have a sweet tooth and love colourful drinks, then you should try this cocktail.
Ingredients
50ml Dead Man’s Fingers Spiced or Coconut Rum
50ml cranberry juice
20ml raspberry syrup
25ml fresh grapefruit juice
Pinch of salt
Dash of bitters (optional) Method
Build all the ingredients in a glass stir. Garnish with orange or lemon peel.
Jameson Mac Black
George Booth, a famous bartender at Lo-Jo’s Social in Copenhagen, says the cocktail for December is the Mac Black. He named it after his first puppy, Mac. Ingredients
50ml Jameson Select Reserve
10ml Calvados
The juice of 1 fresh Granny Smith apple
10ml Rosemary Syrup
10ml Citron
20ml Vanilla Gomme
1 egg white
A sprinkle of dried rosemary Method
Shake 50ml Jameson Select Reserve, 10ml Calvados, the juice of 1 fresh Granny Smith apple, 10ml Rosemary Syrup, 10ml Citron, 20ml Vanilla Gomme, 1 egg white and a sprinkle of dried rosemary together.
Strain into a glass and serve.
Smirnoff Infusion Popsicle
Summer is also about enjoying something chilled to cool off your body. Try something new, and create vodka-infused popsicles.
Ingredients
50ml Smirnoff Raspberry / Pineapple Infusion
A small lemonade
Popsicle mould
Method
Mix the vodka and lemonade and freeze in a popsicle mould.
An alternative to lemonade can be raspberry or pineapple juice, depending on the vodka flavour you selected.
