◆ A body believed to be that of missing Alexandra woman Zama Maphisa was found at a game farm near Dennilton in Mpumalanga this month. Maphisa went missing in September after she left with her boyfriend on a romantic sojourn to the game farm and never returned. Her boyfriend and father of their four-month-old baby, Lefadi Chego, was arrested. ◆ Flavio Hlabangwane was arrested earlier this month after body parts were discovered in his Soweto home by his girlfriend, who reportedly discovered legs and arms in his fridge. It was recently revealed that his victim, Tshepang Pitse, was not only his wife but also his cousin. ◆ The decomposing bodies of Chantelle Ash, 20, and her eight-month daughter Tasneem were found inside a lodge room in Limpopo on January 14, with Chantelle’s hands bound behind her back and her body swollen and almost unrecognisable. Mohammad Nasir, the father was arrested in connection with the alleged murder of his partner and their baby girl. ◆ Naadira Vanker, 31, a teacher at Progress Primary School in Lenasia, was abducted from her home by two men in April during an alleged robbery. After a six-day search, her body was found in a shallow grave at the home of Lucky Mshubi in Phumlamqashi, south of Lenasia. ◆ Tshepo Rakoma, 32, was sprayed with bullets while sitting in her car in Polokwane in May, allegedly by her boyfriend and father of her three children Kibi Josias Lebogo, 34. ◆ Sbahle Luyanda Ndlela, 14, a Grade 9 learner at Sibuko High School, was allegedly strangled and raped in June in Mpumalanga township, Hammarsdale, outside Durban. The 38-year-old suspect who was arrested was the girl’s mother’s ex-boyfriend. ◆ The 23-year-old Nosicelo Mtebeni’s body was stuffed in a suitcase that was discovered about 100 metres from her Quigney, East London, home in August. Her dismembered head and hands were found inside the house in plastic bags. Alutha Pasile, 25, her boyfriend was charged with the alleged murder.
