FORMER Muvhango actress Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema has spoken candidly about the behaviour of men – claiming all her concerns about them were reduced to being told she must raise her son correctly.

Ngema, who has a 2-year-old son with model and media personality Tino Chiyani, said she was indeed taking mindful measures to ensure she is raising her son to be a good man.

She believes there are good men, but her primary concern is about the broken ones.

The 31-year-old questioned the lengths that people could go to, to change the narrative and wrestle with all societal norms affecting the behaviour of men.

She took to Instagram to share her views on the conversation, with a string of questions.

“I look at our men at the men of our generation and I kinda feel like it is too late.

“I am grateful for the good men, but I feel like it is too late for the broken ones. Where do we begin to change the narrative?”

She suggested that they needed assistance in being better individuals and unlearning all that had been taught to them.

“How do we help them become better? How do we help them unlearn what they have known to be the truth all their lives?

“Statistics say it’s women who are at the hands of men. The answers I get so far tell me to raise my son to be a good man –– have we given up on our generation?” she said.

Ngema said “cancel“culture did not help, either.

“Cancel culture does not solve a thing, we cancel them on social media then they carry on with their real lives as nothing happened.”
