Sindisiwe Manqele, the woman who murdered the rapper, Flabba, was released on parole. She was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for murder in 2015. This how Twitter reacted...

As all of these mishaps are unfolding, does it ever occur in the minds of the decision makers how the victims’ families are feeling? They don’t really matter? What goes on in their minds with these shocking realities?

@l_lisebo

Out on parole in 6 years, after intentionally taking a human’s life. That life ended forever. Robbing someone of a son, a brother, a friend. If this is legally permissible, then the justice system needs a total overhaul. This feels shockingly unjust.

@SibusisoJnr

Flabba’s daughter is fatherless today because of this woman yet our justice system will sugar coat this and tell us about the programs. Our justice system is the source of this conflict between men and women. Why favour the other gender? What about Oscar Pistorius?

@Lebone01

You all welcomed Jub Jub with open arms. Sindisiwe Manqele should get the same treatment. Let her live her life. Same as you allowed Jub Jub to pick up from where he left off.

@Xolani_khabazel

If this was a man... you were going to hear GVB activists making noise about this parole release but just because it is a female, there is a muted reaction regarding this news. Man’s life is being treated as less valuable compared to a woman’s. @Hloho_Ya_Lelapa

Flabba was a women abuser, why are we crying as if he was killed for serving the country? He died in his duty of abusing his girlfriend.

@YIZO_SA

I don’t think we realise that the dynamics are a little different… physically we are way more of a threat to women… and we have been unfair, unjust for centuries towards women. Yes we should have an outcry as men for this but we should not compare our struggles.

@kpseabi

People who are throwing tantrums claiming that Sindisiwe Manqele was released too soon fail to appreciate that the overarching mandate of the Department of Correctional Services is to “rehabilitate offenders and reintegrate them into society”. @mmola_kentse

A life means nothing to these Judges. How must the public feel knowing someone can just stab you and they will be released a mere 6 years later?

@Ambitious_Zandy

I hope Sindisiwe Manqele start a foundation and work with women in and out of prison. I heard that the majority of women are there because of a lovers’ tiff “gone wrong”. Acting out of anger is the mother of all mess ups. Next thing, there’s a dead man in front of you.
